East Mine

The East Mine is Kaldrek's main source of employment. Its lower workings flooded during the previous winter and were sealed afterward, but behind a deliberately cut wall in the lower shaft lies an older unmapped tunnel. When the party surveyed those depths, they breached the hidden wall and released five frost-crusted husks that had been sealed within; the violence of their emergence triggered a collapse that left the mine's entrance half buried. Torvin, who hired the party to investigate the cut wall, later connected what lay behind it to Warden's Watch and a marked iron tag, suggesting the mine holds secrets older and stranger than its role as a working quarry. The tunnel beyond the wall runs beneath the ridge toward Hollowpeak's fissure, but the mine will not reopen after the disaster.

Ketra holds a narrow tunnel against attacking frost-crusted husks.
Pharaoh drags Ketra clear as the slope collapses across the mine entrance.
Torvin considers the strange iron tag while negotiating with the party outside his buried mine.
